“The sky broke like an egg into full sunset and the water caught fire.” ~Pamela Hansford Johnson

Every day is beautiful in San Clemente. Whether bright and sparkly or grey and quiet – from dawn until dusk, our beloved city is more than easy on the eyes. Even after dark, the ocean often dances with the moonlight, for anyone willing to watch. But there’s something about an October sunset.

During October, various atmospheric factors tend to make for some extraordinary sunsets. The sky and ocean do often catch fire, and create masterpieces of color as the sun goes down. Wherever you are at sunset throughout the days of this month – in the water, barefoot on the beach, tucked into a rolling hill – join us as we keep our eyes on the horizon and soak in the beauty of the San Clemente sky.

If you ever find yourself at the pier during sunset, and feeling hungry, you can always take a seat at the iconic Fisherman’s. This family-run restaurant has been around since 1981, providing a selection of satisfying food and drink, as well as front row seats to the Pacific Ocean. If you don’t know the story of Fisherman’s, check out our feature this month.

May your month be full of love and joy and light. From all of us here at San Clemente Lifestyle Magazine: Happy October, San Clemente!
