Sea Pointe Construction designs this San Clemente family’s dream home

With their children gown and grandbabies on the horizon, this San Clemente couple enlisted the help of Sea Pointe Construction in hopes of transforming their midcentury ranch style home into a gathering place fit for all ages. Drawing inspiration from the existing vaulted tongue and groove ceilings, a natural and neutral design aesthetic has been carried throughout the home with subtle yet stunning design features in every detail.

On track with our clients’ dream of their family home, Sea Pointe Construction removed the walls that once separated the kitchen from the eating and living spaces. This open floor plan allows for the feeling of designated areas without members of the family feeling closed off from one another. Now, those prepping food, eating or relaxing can do so with the feeling of togetherness. Not to mention; this airy flow works in tandem with the illusion of grandeur set by the vaulted ceilings, making this home feel larger.

Within walking distance to the beach, Design Consultant, Carolyn Hall expertly incorporated cabinets and quartzite countertops, enhancing the homes natural warmth and liveliness. Natural light is a great asset to design and we always encourage our clients to take advantage of windows and skylights.  In the kitchen, a textured apron front sink and geometric tile backsplash put an original twist on a relatable, home-style design. The gorgeous pairing of hardwood and tile flooring offers visual interest while purposefully defines the kitchen, distinguishing space within the flowing floorplan.

Flowing into the main living space, French doors and large windows bring the outdoors in! Where the combination of ample natural light, vaulted ceilings and easy access to the backyard enlarged living area. This indoor-outdoor transition is also perfect for keeping an eye on little ones while enjoying adult conversation. The selection of a simple wood mantle and porcelain “wood plank” tile flooring contributes to the cohesive design our client desired for this whole home remodel.

Venturing into the master bathroom, we find ultra-chic barn doors concealing a walk-in closet. Barn doors add visual interest and style to an ordinary doorway and, in a narrow space similar to this hallway, can be a style alternative to a pocket door. With welcomed elements of transitional style, this master bathroom provides a unique sanctuary where our clients start and end each day. Because our client enjoys taking a soak after a long day, Sea Pointe Construction reworked this master bathroom to allow for this super-sleek freestanding tub. A floating natural wood double vanity paired with contemporary fixtures is the perfect middle ground between this bathrooms transitional style and the natural design aesthetic found throughout the rest of the home. The harmonious tile design mixes four different tiles works to bring that subtle style into the space.
