A coffee and beer company where you can easily feel at home

Taking inspiration from an Australian phrase meaning true, genuine or “the real deal”; Michael Lanzon has created an inviting space in the heart of Dana Point. Originally from Australia, Lanzon envisioned Fair Dinkum Coffee and Beer Co. as a place where people could come to escape their daily routines and experience authenticity.

“You know when you meet someone who is the true cool?” asks Lanzon. “He or she has this aura and style about them, they have a genuineness, they’re the ones you gravitate to. That’s fair dinkum.”

Locals visit Fair Dinkum located at 34150 Pacific Coast Highway, to enjoy quality coffee, beer and organic food in a place that feels like their own, and welcomes their pets.

When it comes to coffee, Lanzon says the team at Fair Dinkum spends the time to make sure to follow the right process, every time. Doing coffee well means building quality relationships with everyone from the farmers around the world, to you, the customer in south Orange County. Lanzon and the baristas of Fair Dinkum do not disappoint.

Partnering with Take Flight Coffee Company, Lanzon ensures all of his coffee is fair dinkum – the real deal. On any given visit, you can ask a skilled and passionate barista to prepare something special from their selection of beverages. For something unique, try a pour over from the Democratic Republic of Congo. This coffee comes from the Muungano Cooperative and features notes of wild berry and tangerine. Fair Dinkum also serves lattes, cappuccinos, cortados, macchiatos, bulletproof coffee, cold brew coffee, and drip coffee, as well as non-coffee beverages such as chai, matcha and hot chocolate, as well as protein shakes.

If it’s beer you’re after, this tap house regularly carries an impressive variety of craft beers from local and national breweries. There’s something for everyone, and some beers may challenge you to rethink your opinions and stretch your palette. For example, Lanzon says Mother Earth Boo Koo has a smooth taste even IPA haters will enjoy. There are plenty of interesting non-IPA options as well – blondes, ambers and pale-ales, among others.

To complete your experience, try something from the delicious new food menu. Take a seat at one of the beautiful tile and wood tables, complete with fresh flowers to bring you a smile, and get ready for a treat. Accomplished chef, Michael Campbell creates simple yet refined dishes, daily. Try the Egg and Bacon Roll, Spinach and Egg White Wrap or the BBQ Shortrib Nachos for a refreshing and satisfying eat. There are also pastries, salads, acai bowls, and other items on offer.

To top it all off, Fair Dinkum is pet-friendly. Sitting on the patio for just half an hour, you’re likely to see several regulars walk up with their friendly, furry sidekicks. Lanzon says there’s a girl in the neighborhood who walks her cat on a leash and stops in sometimes. Feel free to bring yours along when you visit and join in on the fun!

This is a community space you don’t want to miss out on. With everything you need – quality coffee, beer and food, and plenty of space for your pet – Fair Dinkum is a place to be yourself and easily feel at home. Visit FairDinkumBrew.com for more information.
