Taking Steps for Small Steps for Compassion 4

Bear Coast Coffee and Rainbow Step Up

On Monday, November 27th, 2018 Bear Coast Coffee hosted a fundraising event for Small Steps for Compassion. The goal was to raise enough money for 25 young girls at the Small Steps home in Tanzania. That goal was met and it was a fun time as you can see from the pictures in our Good Times section. We were fortunate enough to sponsor Nuru, pictured in the article, and as I saw the outpouring of generosity from donors that evening, I wondered what more I could do to help out. An idea came to mind.

We had featured Rainbow Sandals the previous month and learned about how they refurbish sandals and then donate them to children and adults alike. I called Herman from Rainbow Sandals right away and asked if we could get sandals for Small Steps for Compassion, and of course, he said yes. I introduced Shannin Pickle to Herman and we got sandals for the 25 girls. The town of San Clemente is an amazing place and seeing the connections made to help out so many people in the different parts of the world is just so inspiring. San Clemente we love you and all that you do!
