September 2017 Lifestyle Letter

“Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.” — Wilma Rudolph, American runner and three-time gold medalist.

The World has finally welcomed surfing into the Olympic Games in 2020, which will be held at Shidashita Beach in Chiba, Japan. This month we spoke with the CEO of USA Surfing, Greg Cruse of San Clemente. We welcome you to discover the passion and dedication Cruse has for Surfing and his desire to help to bring the sport of Surfing into the Olympics.

The One Town-One Team mentality embraced by head coach Jaime Ortiz helped to inspire his team to reach the pinnacle of High School Football in 2016. The Tritons, through the guidance of Coach Ortiz and his staff, have achieved greatness with the help of local families.

“You can’t put into words what the environment’s like in this town,” Ortiz said. “I always say, ‘One town-one team.’ It’s not a saying, it’s not a slogan, it’s a way of life. You see these people in this community wrap their arms around these kids. It’s a great experience and just awe-inspiring.” Dan Arritt | Orange County Register.

This month we’ve spotlighted one such family that’s been supporting the Tritons for years, as have many others. We thank you all, and we congratulate all the dedicated coaches and players that helped to bring the first CIF State championship team in the school’s 52-year history.

San Clemente has Greatness, and so does the USA. Go, Teams!
